The EUCON Academy

EUCON, the European Institute for Conflict Management, also directly trains qualified people in "Business Conflict Management" in conjunction with universities, chambers of commerce, professional associations and other training establishments selected by EUCON.
The EUCON Academy specialises in conflict management in business and has therefore developed methods and approaches that provide the business world with suitable options for out-of-court conflict resolution. That means that the curriculum taught, even if successfully used in other fields, has been tested for its adequacy for use in business and, if necessary, adapted. As a division of the EUCON Institute, the Academy seeks with its teaching to support EUCON's successful efforts at establishing mediation as an alternative, efficient and sustainable conflict resolution tool in the German economy.

A focus of its work is basic and advanced training of EUCON business mediators. And in all of this training the focus is equally on settlement of conflicts between different companies and within the company. The prerequisite for participating is an academic education and an additional two years of experience or, in the absence of the former, ten years of relevant professional experience. The Board of Directors decides on exceptions in specific cases.

"We ourselves have to be the change that we want to see in the world (Mahatma Gandhi). The goal of the EUCON Academy is to develop quality standards for training mediators and in that way to set the mark for cooperatively dealing with conflict in the business world. I am happy to support these objectives and the corresponding courses of study at the EUCON Institute."
Professor Renate Dendorfer, LL.M., MBA, Dr.
Attorney and Business Mediator

The EUCON Academy offers comprehensive training to become a business mediator, as well as additional advanced seminars (including seminars on specific communications methods, organisational structures, systemic foundations, NLP, transaction analysis, etc) to expand professional horizons as well as supervision opportunities for trained mediators. From 2007/2008 on trained mediators will additionally have the opportunity of being certified according to a procedure successfully tried in industry.

We offer interesting special events on practical issues of business mediation such as the use of mediation in the domestic and international field. Other topics from the field of conflict management, in particular aspects peculiar to specific sectors or current issues, round out our multifaceted programme.

Participants in our events come from all sections of the economy, contrary to the widespread misconception that it is only for members of the legal profession, and particularly prominent have been corporate executives and personnel managers, self-employed professionals (such as expert appraisers, tax accountants, auditors and management consultants). However all other participants who come from other fields and meet the admission qualifications are cordially welcome.
